DK’s Recovery covers Hillsborough around the clock. It is a busy corner of north-west Sheffield with a football ground in the middle of it, and on a matchday that changes everything about how a recovery works.

Our breakdown recovery runs day and night. Whether the car has stopped at Hillsborough Corner in the rush hour, will not start on a terraced street after a match, or has given up on the climb out toward Loxley, one call gets a truck moving. Tell us the road and what the vehicle is doing, and we will tell you what happens next.

When a vehicle cannot be driven, we come and get it. We recover cars, vans, motorcycles and non-runners across Hillsborough, and we carry them on a flatbed rather than dragging them. That matters for a locked wheel, a failed gearbox, an automatic that should not be towed, or bodywork that will not survive a rope.
Hillsborough has a particular rhythm. Most of the week it is straightforward: main roads, a tram interchange, and a mix of terraced streets and newer housing. On a matchday it becomes one of the hardest parts of the city to get a recovery truck into, and the cars most likely to need one are the ones parked in streets they do not normally park in.
We work the whole north-west corridor, so Crookes up the hill, the city centre down the valley and Stocksbridge out along the Don are all on the same patch.

Breakdowns do not keep office hours, so neither do we. Early starts, evening kick-offs, weekends and bank holidays included. If you are stranded in Hillsborough late at night, the phone is answered by someone who can send a truck rather than a call centre that will ring you back.

Years of recovery work across north-west Sheffield, including a good many matchdays.

We give you a realistic time and a price before we set off, and we turn up when we say we will.

Properly equipped and properly insured trucks, with every vehicle secured to standard for the journey.
We work for drivers and businesses across Hillsborough and the streets around it, from the Corner and the Interchange out to Owlerton, Wadsley, Malin Bridge, Middlewood and up the Loxley valley.
We respond quickly, and on a matchday we tell you honestly what the traffic is doing rather than guessing low.
Day and night, every day of the year, bank holidays included.
Towing and transport on fully equipped recovery trucks, matched to the size of the vehicle and the width of the street.
Roadside help for breakdowns, battery trouble, engine faults and anything else that has stopped the car moving.

Damaged vehicles handled carefully and transported securely after a collision.
Vans and light commercials recovered, with the load taken into account when the van is carrying tools or stock.
Cover across Hillsborough Corner, Middlewood Road, Langsett Road, Holme Lane and Bradfield Road, the Interchange, and the valleys out toward Loxley and Bradfield.
Four roads meet at Hillsborough Corner, a tram interchange sits alongside, and a football ground fills and empties a few hundred yards away. That combination is the whole story here.
Langsett Road, Middlewood Road, Holme Lane and Bradfield Road all meet at the Corner, and it is busy without any help from football. A car that stops here blocks more than its own lane. If it will still move at all, get it into a side street before you stop, and tell us which one.
On a matchday the streets around the ground fill with cars belonging to people who do not park there the rest of the week, and the roads in and out are slow for a couple of hours either side of kick-off. Two things follow. If your car will not start after the final whistle, expect an honest wait rather than a quick one. And if you are parked in a street you do not know, note the street name before you walk to the ground, because describing it afterwards in the dark is harder than it sounds.
A good share of our calls here are not faults at all. Someone has parked across a driveway or boxed a car into a terrace with no passing room. If the car itself is fine, that is usually a matter for the council rather than for us, and we will say so rather than charge you for a visit.
Hillsborough sits on the Supertram's blue and yellow routes and the Interchange is a hub for buses and trams. A vehicle stopped on the tram alignment holds up far more than cars, so if that is where you are, call straight away and stand well clear.
West and north of Hillsborough the roads climb toward Malin Bridge, Loxley, Wadsley and Bradfield. They narrow quickly, they are unlit in stretches, and they take snow and ice earlier than the bottom of the hill. Give us the nearest landmark and say whether there is room alongside the vehicle.
Longer than usual, and we will say so honestly rather than promise twenty minutes. The roads around the ground are slow for a couple of hours after the final whistle. If the car has been unreliable and you can call before the crowd leaves, do.
No. We recover vehicles for their owner or with proper authority, not other people's cars out of the way. If you are blocked in on a street, that is a matter for the council or the police depending on the circumstances, and we will tell you that rather than come out and charge you.
Yes, along with Middlewood, Loxley, Walkley and up toward Bradfield. Hillsborough callouts take us into all of them.
Usually, but tell us the nearest landmark or the last junction you passed, and whether there is a gateway or passing place near you. Those lanes have few places to turn a recovery truck, so knowing in advance means we approach from the right end.
It depends where you are, where the vehicle needs to go, the time of day and what we are recovering. A matchday job and a Tuesday morning job are not the same. Call with the details and you will have a figure before we set off.
Get everyone out on the pavement side, stand well clear, and call straight away. A vehicle on the tram alignment holds up trams as well as traffic, so it is one of the few situations where the car has to move before anything else happens.
